I remember as a kid wanting to speak the language of music. I saw the way music can move people. The way music can instill confidence, create a sense of personal style, and connect people from different walks of life. Once I found my beat, I made it my mission to make sure other kids had opportunities to find theirs. I’ve connected with local musicians to help bring music to kids who may not be provided with these personalized music experiences otherwise. We partner working professionals with kids, bring our own instruments, and get in tune with what their beat might be. The stage we set for these kids ends up being one that all stakeholders feel empowered on. Beat for Beat is a platform for not just music empowerment, but community empowerment. Let’s dare to play for one and all.
At one point last school year our campus encountered some funding issues that put aspects of our after school programing in jeopardy. After talking to Mark about this he assured me that he would find outside funding to ensure that our students were able to continue their guitar lessons. To me this speaks volumes to what type of organization BTG is and where their priorities lie. My school’s our partnership and collaboration with BTG has been hugely successful and impactful upon our student’s learning experiences. It is my hope that this partnership continues for many years to come.
