BEATS Digital Music Programming For Kids and Teens

  • Drop sick tracks
  • Make background music for your videos
  • Compose music for your lyrics

EDM, R&B and Hip-Hop, Pop, Country… many genres and artists use beat programming software to produce music. This software is a new musical instrument – whose musicians must be able to manipulate the program, have a solid understanding of music theory, math skills, and have opportunities to practice and create.

Enrollment in BEATS supports Beyond The Grade music classes for at-risk Austin youth in after school programs – thank you!

Access to and practice with modern technology and operating systems is critical in order for children to be prepared for their futures in higher education and the workforce.

The skills acquired through digital music programming: information architecture, file-saving, and collaborative digital production, as well as the teamwork, confidence, and creativity imbued through group music education, convert to the applications and skills our students will have to master in order to compete in school and life.

Students who don’t have access to modern technology at home and at school suffer from a technology gap. We close that gap by applying creative play as a meaningful educational tool as children explore musicality in a technology-based format.
